As introduced above, I'm Priyadharshini Karthikeyan!
I'm a currently an international student at the University of Liverpool. I am doing my second year in BSc Computer Science w Year in Industry.
I also work at the university as an International Student Ambassador helping prospective students make their decision on university and answering any questions they may have.
I was born in Chennai, India and moved to Johannesburg, South Africa in 2011 when I was approximately 7 years old. I then moved from South Africa to Liverpool, United Kingdom, to pursue my degree.
I speak my mother tongue, Thamizh, and English Fluently
I chose Computer Science because of how it captivated me. Specifically the programming aspect of the subject.
My journey with programming started in Grade 10 of high school in South Africa. I took Information Technology as one of my three optional subjects. I began learning my first programming language, Delphi, as part of the subject. In no time, I could already see what my future would look like. While programming, I fell into a space of unbreakable focus, a type of concentration I failed to foster in other subjects. I often found myself losing track of time while programming and almost never felt like I was doing dreadful homework. Although in our modern world, Delphi is not widely used, it opened me up to the possibilities of the programming world and what we could accomplish with it.
As my passion grew, I went on to learn python, Haskell and Java and Swift.
Aspiring to secure an internship or work experience in software development, with a strong interest in designing mobile applications. Recently completed an iOS app development module, which enhanced my skills and deepened my passion for this area. I am eager to apply the knowledge I’ve gained to solve real-world problems. After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to pursue a master’s degree, with the specific discipline still under consideration.
