I have engaged with students through two messaging platforms.
Initially, when I started my role as an ambassador, the university had made use of a platform called UNIBUDDY. This is was then discontinued and from February 2024 onwards, the university transitioned to another platform called TAP (The Ambassador Platform).
Summary:
As an International Student Ambassador, my job is to help assist prospective students in making their decision about which University they will eventually choose. I assist by answering any questions they may have about university life, student life, accommodation, their course, societies and etc.
Duties:
- Participating in university events representing on behalf of the university. i.e. Open days.
- Answering prospective student questions and engaging with them on TAP (The Ambassador Platform- a messaging platform that connects students to different ambassadors.)
- Providing campus tours.
- Assisting with airport pickup for international students during/before welcome week and welcoming students.
- Participating in social media campaigns and filming content.
- Participating in student panels.
- Attending webinars, providing information on various aspects.
- Offering guidance and mentorship to new students, providing tips and advice based on personal experiences.
- Delivering presentations about my personal experience at the university.
