I am currently working on an app designed to help users find low-skill or entry-level jobs. Essentially, it functions like LinkedIn but exclusively advertises opportunities that require little to no prior skills. The primary aim is to combat homelessness and support poverty-stricken individuals by providing them with accessible income sources.
The jobs listed on the app are categorized as either short-term contracts (a few months) or casual positions (a few hours or days). To enhance user engagement, the app incorporates a gamified element where employers can rate employees who have worked for them on a 5-star scale. This rating system is intended to improve employability for individuals with limited opportunities by building their credibility directly through employer feedback, removing the need for traditional CVs or cover letters.
This personal project is taking a bit longer than expected due to the limited availability of credible sources for information and data. As a result, I’ve had to generate mock data to simulate the app’s functionality. Despite these challenges, the app is currently 60% complete, and progress is steadily moving forward.
